Fabric weight (GSM) explained: 70, 80, 100 or 120?

GSM means grams per square meter — the weight of the fabric. Higher GSM means thicker, stronger, and slightly more expensive fabric.

70–80 gsm is the workhorse of promotional non-woven bags: light, cheap, perfect for giveaways, exhibitions and one-day events.

90–100 gsm is the reusable range: shopping bags and retail bags that customers carry again and again. It holds its shape and the print survives longer.

110–120 gsm is the premium end: stiffer body, noticeably stronger handles, used where the bag must last months of heavy use.

Heavier fabric also improves the perceived quality of the print — colors look richer on a firm surface.

You do not need to guess. Tell us what the bag will carry and how often it will be reused, and we will point you to the right weight. Common weights are in regular stock, so choosing a standard gsm also keeps your lead time short.
