Laminated non-woven bags: how full-color printing works

When your artwork has many colors, gradients or photographs, silk-screen on non-woven fabric is no longer the right tool. The answer is a laminated bag.

How it works: your design is rotogravure-printed onto a thin film, and that film is bonded onto the non-woven fabric. The result looks like a photo printed directly on the bag — full-bleed color, gradients, small text, all sharp.

Rotogravure uses an engraved cylinder for the design. That cylinder is a fixed setup cost, which is why laminated printing pays off as quantity grows.

One practical tip: the same design reused across several bag sizes reuses the same cylinder, so each additional size costs much less than the first.

If your logo is simple — one or two colors — silk-screen is usually the cheaper route and works perfectly well.
